A Tale of an Old Attic and a Very Strange Discovery…

There’s a mansion not too far from where I live, and let me tell you, it’s the stuff of legends. Some say it’s haunted, others say it used to belong to a witch—either way, it’s the kind of place you wouldn’t want to be caught in after dark. Naturally, I had to check it out for myself.

The whole house was draped in cobwebs, with creaky floors and that eerie feeling that you’re being watched. But it wasn’t until I made my way up into the attic that things got really spooky. Up there, I found what looked like an old, abandoned laboratory! There were dusty chemical tubes, beakers filled with strange substances, and weird electrical gadgets scattered all around. It was as if someone had left in a hurry and never returned.

In the far corner, half-hidden under a pile of debris, stood a large, ancient cabinet. The lock was rusted over, but the moment I touched it, it crumbled away in my hand like dust. Curious, I opened the cabinet door. Inside was something I couldn’t quite make sense of—a large, blank picture frame, or maybe it was part of an old operating table? I picked it up, trying to get a closer look, and then…

AAAAUGH! I’ll leave the rest of this spooky story to your imagination (and my upcoming Halloween show!). Let’s just say, what happens next is something I’ve never seen before—and I think any man, woman, kid, boy, or girl at my show will be absolutely astonished when they see what unfolds next!

The magical cabinet of mystery

Magically Inspired Activity:
DIY Potion Bottles
Bring a little spooky magic to your Halloween decor! Find some old glass jars or bottles, fill them with water, and add a few drops of food coloring (purple and green work great for a spooky look). Drop in some plastic spiders or eyeballs, and you’ve got your very own potion bottles to display around the house. Bonus points if you add labels like “Witch’s Brew” or “Ghost Juice”!

Behind-the-Scenes Insight:
Halloween magic tricks are my favorite because they let me explore the darker side of illusions. There’s something about creaky old attics, spooky props, and unexpected surprises that really gets the audience on the edge of their seats. It’s all about keeping the mystery alive and making people question what’s real.
